music: Russian Circles- Death Rides a Horse
Woo!

Caroline came back from England/NYC and I got to see her for the first time in 2 weeks yesterday. We went to Sneaky Dee's to see the Russian Circles/Young Widows show I won tickets to. Young Widows were good, but Russian Circles! FUCK. They were so impressive live. The guitarist has a pedalboard a metre long and his style reminded me of a mix between Pelican and the Fucking Champs. RC played Death Rides a Horse and I rocked out. The drummer looks like tall and babelier version of Danzig. I saw Young Widows at Dudefest and they were pretty great, but I find them a bit boring. Things I love about RC- no vocals and they aren't on Relapse or any big metal label to speak of. That's impressive.

We had a really good time but got soooo tired by the end of it the show. We are old ladies. Ran into a friend, Dim, who I hadn't seen in a while and who reminded me of some dude from Bovine- Chris MacKay?? HAHAHAHA. Moustache guy! It was hilarious and I have to tell Ola.
I forgot my keys at school and luckily realized this BEFORE going all the way home, so I crashed in Storey's bed and snuggled with she and her dog Sharkey, who is kind of like Xeno but tinier and with a permantly sticking out tongue. Adorable. We got up so tired today and trudged through the stormy weather. I think I will stay over at her place more often so we can tattoo each other until late and then I can head to school in the morning-it's so much faster than coming from Etobicoke.

Now I am at school for the day trying to finish essays and prepping for a meeting about the cafe plans. I have to compile my equipment and suppliers list because I am menu coordinator.

Caroline brought me SOO MUCH stuff from England/NYC. She is crazy and way too generous. The best: a HEAVY METAL activity/colouring book. It has a connect the dots to King Buzzo's afro and a black metal band names word descramble... We seriously could not stop laughing while looking through it together last night. Other highlights: vegan Starburst, creamy vegan chocolate bars, gold booty shorts, a calculator watch (inside joke), tea.... vegan spaghetti Os! Damn! All in all, she enjoyed NYC more than England but still had a good trip overall. She says I am a better travel buddy than her dad. YESSSSS. Maybe a Chicago/NYC road trip this spring during my break?

I am going to Flint sometime this weekend for a week or so. I cannot wait to see my boyfriend! It still feels weird to say I have one but goddamn he is so awesome and I am a lucky girl. It's easy to under-appreciate people, so I try not to. I'd rather be mushy than a cold asshole- you know, like I used to be.

Nessie! Yin yoga! I want to also do an aerial class at Detroit Flyhouse.

I leave you to check out this music video that Ryan's friend Jack shot for their single "Hostage". It's totally professional and the boys look great...especially Ryan. What a babe. I get all tingley watching him. The living room shots are from Ryan's house, outdoor shots are filmed downtown Flint and the dingey basement shots are filmed in the abandoned Capitol theatre of Flint.
